What area does the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce cover?
Douglas County. This includes the cities of Lawrence, LeCompton, Eudora and Baldwin City.

Does my business need to be in Douglas County to be a member of the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce?
No. All businesses are eligible and welcome for membership in the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce.

Is the Chamber part of the city government?
No. The Chamber is a private, not-for-profit organization. The Chamber does, however, receive funding from the City of Lawrence and Douglas County for its partnership in economic development for the region.

How do I know if a business belongs to the Chamber?
You can look up all of our more than 900 members in the Membership Directory Search. This database is updated regularly with information about our members.

With whom does the Chamber partner?
The Chamber is committed to developing partnerships and relationships with a many businesses, organizations and community members to create a stronger business community. Some of these partnerships include: the University of Kansas; Haskell Indian Nations College; Baker University; Lawrence-Douglas County Bioscience Authority; Lawrence Regional Technology Association, KU Small Business Development Center, Douglas County government, City of Lawrence government and the other communities in the area.

What are the Chamber dues? Are they tax-deductible?

Where are the Chamber offices located? What are the Chamber’s hours?
We are located at 646 Vermont Street, Suite 200, between Seventh and Eighth streets, on the second floor. Our general phone number is 785/865-4411, and our general e-mail is frontdesk@lawrencechamber.com.

We are open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, except on certain federal holidays. We are closed the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day.

 

Can I use the Chamber logo on my website or promotional materials?
Yes. Under the “Members Only” section of the website we are adding several logos available to our members to use on their websites and promotional materials. We encourage our members to use these whenever they choose.

Where can I find a listing of Chamber events?
Chamber events are listed on our Events Calendar. The Chamber lists its own events, as well as Leadership Lawrence events. The Chamber does NOT currently list member events or community events on its calendar. Visit www.visitlawrence.com for a list of community events in the region.

What are Chamber gift certificates? How do I purchase them?
Lawrence Chamber of Commerce gift certificates are gift certificates redeemable at any of our more than 900 member businesses. The certificates are available in denominations of $5, $10, $25 and $50. Arrangements may be made for other denominations. Chamber gift certificates may be purchased using cash, check (exact amounts) or credit card (all major cards accepted).

For special orders of ten (10) or more gift certificates, please e-mail or call Administrative Assistant Darlene Lantz at frontdesk@lawrencechamber.com or 785/865-4411 two days in advance so the order will be ready when you pick them up.
