Annual Events
Annual Meeting
Each year, the Chamber hosts its annual meeting to celebrate the past year's accomplishments, welcome the new Board of Directors and Board Chair, and to honor local businesses and businessmen and women for their contributions to the community. Awards given during the event include: Citizen of the Years Award; Wally Galluzzi Volunteer Award; Buford M. Watson Public Service Award; Athena Award presented by Crown Automotive and the Business of the Year awards.
Taste of Lawrence Fall Mixer
An annual event, the “Taste of Lawrence” Fall Mixer honors the contributions of our local educators from early childhood through the university level. The event celebrates the strong partnership between the business and education communities and features food from a wide range of local restaurants.
Business After Hours
Held the third Wednesday of each month, this is an opportunity for some casual networking with other local business owners. Host a Business-After-Hours and show off your business, employees and facilities. Contact

Valor Public Safety Awards, Scholarship Program and Valor Golf Tournament
In its second year, the Valor Public Safety Awards recognizes the heroism of our first responders throughout Douglas County. Proceeds from the Valor Golf Tournament go to the Valor Scholarship fund which provides a one-time educational stipend for the children of Valor honorees. For information, visit
