We are a strong and consistent advocate for the many benefits our more than 950 member businesses and their 1,400 representatives, bring to Lawrence. While the general public may not always recognize the valuable contributions of the business community, the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce does. We are committed to increasing that awareness, in Lawrence and throughout Douglas County.

The Chamber offers many programs and events throughout the year, all designed to help your business succeed.
The Chamber’s informational seminars address current issues including changes in laws or regulations that may affect businesses, regardless of size. Our Legislative Series connects you directly to our local, state and federal elected officials to better acquaint them with the challenges and opportunities you face as a business person. Numerous networking events, ranging from Business-After-Hours to ribbon cuttings to our Business Expo, provide an opportunity for you to establish or strengthen relationships with other local business owners.
The Chamber staff works closely with our members to understand your business needs, help find solutions to challenges you may be facing and facilitate relationships with local government entities. You benefit from our partnerships with the city, county, educational institutions and industry organizations. These relationships provide a strong base from which the Chamber serves the needs of its members.

Making the most of your membership.
When you choose to be a member of the Chamber of Commerce, you become a part of a vibrant business community with shared priorities and goals. You maximize that membership investment when you choose to play an active role within the Chamber.
As a member of the Envoys Committee, or by lending your expertise to other committees, you become more engaged with the Lawrence business community. Our event committees play a key role in planning and executing some of our signature events including our Fall Mixer, celebrating the accomplishments of our local educators, and our Economic Forecast Breakfast and Business Expo highlighting business opportunities here in Lawrence.
As a small business owner, I recognize the challenge involved in getting away from the office. However I strongly encourage you to make the effort to be an active Chamber member. You will find the benefits of participation are well worth the effort, personally and professionally. The knowledge you gain and the relationships you build will benefit your business in both the short- and long-term.
