Leadership Lawrence

Leadership Lawrence, a program of the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce, is a professional development program that provides participants first-hand exposure to the inner workings of Lawrence and Douglas County. Since its creation in 1982, the program has developed more than 450 leaders in the community.

Mission & Overview

The mission of the Leadership Lawrence program is to inspire and strengthen active leadership in our community.

Participation

The Leadership Lawrence class includes up to 30 individuals living and/or working in the Lawrence/Douglas County area. Participants in Leadership Lawrence are selected after consideration of a number of qualities.

Tuition & Applications

Application forms for the 2007-2008 Leadership Lawrence Program will be available in May.

Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees consists of the original founders and past chairs of the Leadership Lawrence program. We appreciate those individuals who continue to be supportive of the program's goals.

Committee Involvement

Leadership Lawrence provides numerous ways for the alumni to become involved after their program year is over.

Leadership Awards

Leadership Lawrence presents awards to community members for their leadership achievement. They are The Don Volker Leadership Award, Distinguished Alumni Award and Wally Galluzzi Chamber Volunteer of the Year Award.

PIECE Project

Kansas Health Foundation, PIECE Project (Peer Involvement Encouraging Community Engagement), helmet safety and E on E (Elderly on Email) are just some of the Youth Projects Leadership Lawrence is involved in.
