Governor Names MartinLogan Ltd. As Finalist for Exporter of the Year Award

Lawrence, Kan. – The Lawrence Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that Lawrence company and chamber member MartinLogan Ltd. was named a finalist for the Governor’s Exporter of the Year Award. The announcement was made at this year’s Kansas Cavalry Encampment at the Wichita Marriott Hotel’s Grand Ballroom on Monday, June 12, 2006.

The Governor’s Exporter of the Year award is presented annually to a Kansas company that has demonstrated excellence in export sales. This year’s five finalists included MartinLogan, Geoprobe Systems of Salina, Great Plains Manufacturing of Salina, HIX Corporation of Pittsburg, and XenoTech LLC of Lenexa. Great Plains Manufacturing was named the winner.

MartinLogan Ltd. designs, engineers and manufactures upscale home audio and home theater speakers. The company has been in business since 1983 and has 70 employees.

“We’ve always known that MartinLogan is an outstanding company, and now the rest of the state knows it too. All of us at the Lawrence Chamber congratulate them on this honor and wish them continued success,” said Beth Johnson, Chamber vice president for economic development.

The Kansas Cavalry is an organization comprising volunteer business, education, and economic development professionals who promote Kansas as an attractive location for business and actively recruit businesses. The Kansas Cavalry accomplishes its mission in collaboration with the Kansas Department of Commerce.
